Now that's funny! Dad in the role made famous by Darren McGavin aka The Night Stalker.....I knew there was a reason you were my friend....

Can we please, oh please, add about.com to the hate list. I generally run into it when I'm searching for a recipe, and like a fool, I click on the link thinking this time my screen won't be riddled with useless quasi-relevant-but-not-really information like it was the last nineteen times I was led to the site. Only adding insult to injury are those fromagesque images of the "authors." How do these people get off nominating themselves as my guide to anything other than pisspoor advice? I hate them and their ass faces.

The whole site is just so . . . makeshifty.

Christopher - With regard to design, Vitruvius' principles of good design stipulate that it should have firmness, commodity, and delight. While he was speaking of architecture, I think there is a parallel to the design of any space that you inhabit, actual or virtual. By firmness he means structural integrity, by commodity, the ability to have a space appropriate to its use and delight, something that is pleasing. It is interesting to think of the things that have stood the test of time and to understand that they all share these principles. That Vitruvius - one smart guy.
